Youth  in  Harmony

Youth in Harmony offers a variety of programs designed to bring joy and harmony to families and young people.

Prenatal Yoga - pregnant moms relax, strengthen, and prepare for childbirth and parenting.
Mom & Baby Yoga - for moms with babies (newborn - age 2). Playful, supportive environment in which to stretch, strengthen, relax, and bond with baby and other moms.
Parent-Child Yoga classes are available to help young children develop focus, coordination, and flexibility while connecting with parents and friends.
Music Together (R) classes - (Newborn to Age 6). Songs, Dance, Rhymes, Instrument Play. So much FUN you might not even realize how much children and parents alike are LEARNING!
Music Together Big Kids (R)  classes - (Ages 5-8). Singing (solo, unison, & harmony), improvisation, verse creation, solfege training, conducting, choreography, percussion, and more! Kids in this age range easily learn things that might not otherwise be presented to them until college music lab! MTBK classes are great in preparation for or in conjunction with private instrument study, choirs, etc.
Youth in Harmony A Cappella Choir - (Ages 8-18). This is our elite performing choir. Audition required to participate. This group has performed all over Brevard County including but not limited to Halloween shows, Florida History Programs, Renaissance Festivals, Holiday Caroling, nursing homes, and fundraisers.
Beginning to Intermediate Keyboard Instruction for ages 6 and up. Under age 8 will generally not be accepted for keyboard study without at least one semester and preferably at least one full year of Music Together Big Kids classes.
Vocal Instruction for teens and adults. By appointment.
Connection Practice (R)  teaches a skill set for uniting empathy and insight to facilitate personal growth and interpersonal connection. Connection Practice (R) maximizes social and emotional intelligence, builds resilience, and enhances academic and professional performance. Sessions by appointment only.

Brevard Renaissance Fair

Youth in Harmony choir will be at the Brevard Renaissance Fair in Wickham Park.
2018 RenFair Dates: January 20th/21st, January 27th/28th and February 3rd/4th.

Prepare to step back in time to a simpler way of life and the festival atmosphere of a charming Olde World Faire day in Renaissance Europe.
From the glories of William the Conqueror through the Golden Age of the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and beyond. When armored Knights traveled the countryside competing for fortune and fame, these festivals were a time of celebration, revelry and merriment throughout the countryside.

Debra Walden - Director, Registered Music Together (R) Teacher, Level I Certified.

Debra is a licensed Music Together® center director and a Registered and Level I certified Music Together teacher. She holds a B.A. in Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in Vocal Music from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (1994), and she has been teaching music to children since 1997.

Debra is a seasoned performer (vocalist, dancer & actor) with a professional career spanning more than 20 years. She has performed, toured (U.S. and Europe) and recorded with such companies as the New York Ensemble for Early Music, Bachworks (NY), Bronx Opera (NY), Caramoor Opera (NY), Maureen Fleming (NY), The Maryland Camerata, Phoenix Repertory Dance Company (MD), and Washington Opera (D.C.). In addition, she has shown original choreography and performance art work in various locations in NY and MD. She currently performs regularly with the Brevard Theatrical Ensemble.

In 2001, Debra created and began to teach Yogamomba®, a program of yoga, dance and song for moms with infants and young children.

She is the mother of two: a son who is 14 years old, and a 8 year old daughter. Being a mom, she says, has been her proudest and most fulfilling work of all.
